The continuum of education: teacher impacts student who then becomes teacher, but in the case of Ellen Smith Elementary, it happened early in one student's career. It created a Golden Apple.

A teacher with a commitment to teach that started when she was in grade school, and a student who has survived a tragedy, head up the Golden Apple winners for May.

One teacher, one student a month gets the THV Golden Apple. We're ready to harvest April's winners. We start in Cabot.

A class assignment and a time management princess lead to March's Golden Apple Winners.

The
2008 version of the monthly Golden Apple of Excellence is
a celebration of volunteers in public schools. Statistics
and test scores show, that schools with active support from
the community tend to be overachievers.
This is
the goal of THV’s 2008 version of Golden Apples:
to instill that desire and to recognize that support from individuals
who go above and beyond the call of duty to help their school.
If you know of someone who mentors, works with, volunteers,
supports, contributes to a public school, we want to know about
it.
Give us their name and number, your name and number, the school,
and a brief description of what they do. The 2008 Golden Apples
is for the people who care!

A teacher who loves being called a space cadet and a future star are this month's Golden Apple Winners.

A teacher who reflects the caring attitude of teachers everywhere, and a politically astute high school senior made November a month to remember. We had a technical issue and this awesome story didn't make it online, so we are sharing it now. Sorry for the delay!

Jason Bolick looks like a 9th grader, but no, he's a teacher. He's quite a teacher. Before the school year started, he went to his vice principal at Little Rock Mills and demanded white boards. He wanted the white boards all around the room. Vice Principal Anderson approved the order, but wasn't sure why.

The new school year is in its third month, and we are ready to award our first two Golden Apples.

The final Golden Apple winners of 2008 were honored by Craig O'Neill.

Today's THV visited a teacher and a student who are doing exceptional work in the classroom. And in both cases, we didn't have to go very far since both of this month's honorees are from Benton.

The school year is almost two months old, and it's time to start passing out Golden Apples.

This month Cade Lester of Hot Springs and Mrs. Jayne Keisler of Malvern are honored.

Teacher Mark Clark and student Merissa Johnson were surprised when THV Sports Director Craig O'Neill paid them a visit.
