Chris Olsen from Botanica Gardens always has great advice on home and gardening projects.
First Segment: Pumpkin Decor
Believe it or not, it's that time of year for pumpkins and gourds. Chris will show you all the different varieties that can make your home and garden a showcase. Just remember to make sure before you purchase your produce that they are free of bruises and cuts. Any cut will expose the fruit to bacteria and therefore the chances of it rotting earlier are so much greater. And remember when it comes to pumpkins and gourds, the more the merrier.
Second Segment: Pumpkin Lanterns
Dare to be different! Only on Today's THV will you see this project. All you need are foam pumpkins that your can find at your local craft store. Then drill round holes in different sizes with a drill bit. Make sure some of the holes are bigger (about 1 to 2 inches) and others smaller (about 1/2 inch). I find that 3 different size holes makes all the difference. Just place a outdoor light in the middle and you have your own pumpkin lantern.
