HORATIO, Ark. (KSLA) -- A woman who was kidnapped during a robbery in Sevier County has been found dead. A suspect is in custody.

In Horatio, Arkansas in Sevier County, a suspect walked into Selena's, a Dish TV Retailer, on Main Street around 9 a.m.

The suspect went inside, reached across the counter and grabbed a female sales person and fled with her in her vehicle.

Police say they were first notified of what happened when a customer went into the store and found the front door open and no employee inside. Police found the store's safe was open and the interior ransacked.

Police say they knew the suspect, now identified as Cody Shane Griffin, 25 of Horatio, has a previous criminal record.

They arrested him at 1:30 p.m. after someone called about a man walking down what the caller called a "county" road in his underwear.

Police say he confessed that the missing woman was in the trunk of her car and that's when police found her dead in the woods of Beacon Hill north or Horatio.

The victim is identified as Wendy Zapata, 19, of DeQueen.
