LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- A child with a life threatening disability is in need of a kidney transplant, but doctors have decided not to operate on the little girl and give her a new organ.

The doctors reasoning behind this is because the little girl is not expected to live for a substantial amount of time regardless of whether or not she has the transplant.

The list of available organs for donation is much shorter than the list of people needing new organs. So does this make it right for these doctors to deny this little girl of a kidney?

Should someone who is expected to live a long full life if they have a transplant be given an organ over someone who has a much lower chance of survival?
