LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- President Obama is echoing a law Arkansas already has in place by saying, "I am proposing that every state, every state, requires that all students stay in high school until they graduate or turn 18." And, Arkansas has a graduation rate of 85 percent.

Although the state's graduation rate is higher than some other states, many students are not prepared for college. Thirty-five percent are taking remediation courses at 4-year colleges. Senator Mark Pryor says families need to offer more support. He says, "
"We have come a long way in the state and we need to be proud of the progress we've made but we need to recognize we still have a ways to go."

So today for our C-block discussion we are asking you, do you think graduation should be a requirement? Is 18 the appropriate age for students to make the decision of whether or not to stay in school?

And do you think this will significantly boost our nation's education or will grades remain the same?
