LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Senior guard for UAPB Savalace Townsend is nominated for the "Dark Horse Dunker" competition.
The nominees in this competition are under-the-radar players who have what it takes to compete against the D-1 field in New Orleans. The winner will take part in the Denny's Slam Dunk Competition at the State Farm College Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships in New Orleans on March 29 on ESPN.

Townsend earned this spot in the competition with a spectacular dunk against Grambling State. Townsend brought the ball up the court, sped past his defender, leaped from inside the free throw line, and posterized the help-side defense.
