LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - An announcement today by HUD could put money in the hands of some Arkansas homeowners.
Officials say it comes from a $25 million mortgage servicing settlement approved by a federal court last week. They say homeowners with loans serviced by one of five participating mortgage servicers could be eligible for assistance.
Authorities say the money will come from a pool of $38 million set aside for the state of Arkansas which homeowners can use to either refinance or pay down principal.
