LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Formal charges have been filed in the murder case of a Perry County woman.
Perry County deputy prosecutor Jason Ables says charges were filed in circuit court Sept. 12 for the three murder suspects in the death of Donna Young. Young's body was found in July 2012 in Houston, Arkansas.
Donna's son-in-law Dale Young and Nick Saunders were formally charged with capital murder and hindering apprehension, and Melissa Ward was charged with hindering apprehension.
Perry County Sheriff Scott Montgomery says Saunders confessed to stabbing Young twice in the neck and that he dumped her body off a cliff then led authorities to her.
Montgomery says Dale Young confessed to cleaning up the murder scene. Ward was previously charged with murder but that charge was reduced. Montgomery says Ward knew about the murder and the charge implies cover-up.
Previously, Young and Saunders were pointing the finger at each other, blaming the murder on the other.
Arraignment and bond hearings for all three are set for October 2.
