Suspects caught during home burglary

    BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) - Two people were caught red-handed during a residential burglary.

    According to Benton police, Bobby Smith, 37, and Jennifer Brock, 30, were arrested when officers responded to burglary in progress. They said that when they arrived, the back door of the home had been forced open and Smith a Brock had fled the scene.

    Smith was taken into custody after a short foot chase, and Brock was arrested sometime later in the same area as the home.

    Smith is charged with Residential Burglary, Possession of a Firearm by a Certain Person, Theft of Property, and Criminal Mischief. He is also currently a parolee and had active warrants out of Saline Count at the time of arrest.

    Brock is charged with Residential Burglary, Theft of Property, Criminal Mischief, and Theft of Property.

    This is an on-going investigation, and further charges are possible in the future.
