UNDATED (KTHV) -- In tonight's Fishin' with Liz, something a little different. We're not
taking you to a lake, instead we're taking you to an anglers
outpost open 24/7.
Jeff Mays owns two, 24 hour live bait and tackle vending machines. You can get minnows, 4 different kinds of worms, fishing line, bobbers, sinkers, etc.
And if you don't have cash, that's not a problem. The machines take plastic. Mays bought the machines after months of unemployment. Business has been steady, but slow and he hopes it will catch on.
He says, "It's a labor of love for me. I just thought the idea was phenomenal. I fell in love with the idea. I think it's a nitch business that sportsmen can get their bait anytime they want."
The machine is refrigerated and Mays can keep his minnows alive for about 7 days and worms up to 8 weeks.
He has one at the Highway 65 Country Store in Damascus. The other one is at the Heber Springs Fuel Depot.
