HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Entergy says two Arkansas lakes will begin to return to their normal summertime levels next month.
The company says Lake Hamilton and Lake Catherine are drawn down each winter to facilitate shoreline maintenance and to help control nuisance aquatic vegetation.
The lakes near Hot Springs are formed by dams that Entergy built more than 60 years ago for hydroelectric generation.
Both lakes will rise about seven inches per day beginning March 3 and ending March 11.
Entergy says it's important to have the lakes back to summertime levels before fish start spawning in mid-March.
