Huntsville, AL (Sports Network) - Alabama A&M football will stay in state for
seven of its 11 games in 2012, including a trip to Auburn in what is the
Bulldogs' first game against a Southeastern Conference program.
A&M, coming off an appearance in the Southwestern Athletic Conference
Championship Game, will wrap up the season at Auburn on Nov. 17 - a reported
$500,000 payday for the Bulldogs athletic program.
Coach Anthony Jones' squad will open its campaign on Sept. 1 against Tuskegee
in Mobile.
A&M will then play nine straight SWAC opponents, hosting Prairie View A&M
(Sept. 15), defending conference champion Grambling State (Sept. 29), Alcorn
State (Oct. 13) and Southern (Nov. 3).
The Bulldogs also will go to Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Sept. 8), Texas Southern
(Sept. 22), Mississippi Valley State (Oct. 6) and Jackson State (Nov. 10) as
well as play Alabama State (Oct. 27) in the Magic City Classic in Birmingham.
