New York, NY (Sports Network) - New York Red Bulls forward Thierry Henry made history on Monday by capturing his third successive Major League Soccer Player of the Week award.

Henry has been a big reason why New York is riding a three-match winning streak, and his latest accolade comes following a two-goal, one-assist outing in a 4-1 win over the Columbus Crew on Saturday.

After assisting on the opening goal three minutes into the match he netted his first goal of the contest shortly before halftime and capped the scoring in the final minutes to give him seven goals in the last three games.

In addition to Henry's prowess in front of goal, the former Arsenal man is second to Sporting Kansas City's Graham Zusi in the league in assists with four.

The MLS Player of the Week award is selected each week by the North American Soccer Reporters. The group consists of members of online, print, television, radio media. More information can be found at soccerreporters.com.
