    Steelers ink TE Pope to 1-year deal

    Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a one-year contract with veteran tight end Leonard Pope, who played the last three seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs.

    Financial terms of the deal, which was announced Tuesday, were not disclosed.

    Pope played all 16 games last season, including 10 starts, and posted career- highs with 24 catches and 247 receiving yards.

    The 6-foot-8 Georgia product was originally selected in the third round of the 2006 draft by Arizona, where he spent his first three NFL seasons.

    In 87 games with 49 starts, Pope has 102 receptions for 973 yards and nine touchdowns.
