Hanover, NH (Sports Network) - Mark Cisco hit a game winning jumper with three
seconds left to give Columbia a thrilling 64-62 win over Dartmouth in an Ivy
League contest at Edward Leede Arena.
Cisco scored 18 points and tied for a team-high with six rebounds while Van
Green chipped in 10 points off the bench for Columbia (13-8, 2-3 Ivy
League) which snapped a three game losing streak.
Jvonte Brooks led Dartmouth (4-17, 0-5) with 17 points while David Rufful
added 14 and R.J. Griffin netted 13. The Big Green has lost four of its last
five.
Columbia took a slim 31-29 lead into the break by shooting 41.4 percent from
the floor which was just slightly better than Dartmouth which connected on an
even 40.0 percent of its first half shots.
Columbia was unable to pull away in the second half despite shooting 56.3
percent from the floor as the game was tied 62-62 with 24 seconds remaining.
The Lions then ran a pick and roll with Brian Barbour who hit Cisco on the
baseline to set up the game winner.
There were nine ties and six lead changes in the contest. Dartmouth's bench
outscored its counterpart 27-19 in the loss.
